Didn't you know that dreams are made of candle wax? Well they are!!

This guy is made from a very old plastic pony that I got when I was like eight, I almost threw him away when I was cleaning out some boxes and such but then I saw :iconardorinferi:'s neat little beastie which can be seen here [link]

So I asked her if she minded if I tried to make one, she said yes so I made one, of course mine isn't as cool as hers but he was a lot of fun!!

Yours actually looks like a candle. How on earth did you get the wax on all sides of it, even the inner legs? I tried to cover the whole dragon Im working on but it was a pain in the ass and I had to just turn him upside down and ended up burning myself. Dis suggested dipping but I dont have a pot large enough, how did you do yours?

Yeah I kinda went overboard with the wax. Well I had a candle that was in a glass jar, I boiled a pot of water then turned the fire off and but the glass jar in the water and it slowly melts the wax within. When there was enough I would take it out of the pot then pour it over the horse. When I first started him I poured it over his back, then turned him upside down and did his belly, then I would lay him on his sides and so on.
The only time I actually used a burning candle was when I did the yellow and white colors
Hope that helps! :D

Indeed, I hadn't thought of getting jar candles, all of mine were ghetto pieces of used candles and I made a double boiler by heating a pan of water and placing a bowl lined with tinfoil into it with the pieces in that. Your way is so much easier! You can even dip smaller ones that way!
